The Scottish Commission for People with Learning Disabilities (SCLD) is an intermediary organisation for the learning disability sector in Scotland, and partner to the Scottish Government. Its vision is of a fairer Scotland where people with learning/intellectual disabilities live full, safe, loving, and equal lives.
The Scottish Commission for Learning Disabilities (SCLD) switched their IT provider to Euro Systems. The organisation was looking to upgrade their IT infrastructure for a better and more flexible working environment.
As their new IT partner, the team at Euro Systems revised the current IT setup the organisation had, identifying areas for improvement that would help the business to modernise and the staff to work more flexibly.
Following a thorough IT audit, Euro Systems worked closely with the SCLD to move the organisation forward with up-to-date IT solutions that would improve team productivity.
The traditional phone system that the SCLD were using was out of date, and it was also costly to maintain. So, the first step was to refresh the system to a more cost-effective cloud-based phone system, that would also enhance business mobility. The SCLD was unable to provide full remote access for staff to work from home, which needed addressed. The server that was in use was also needing an upgrade.
Euro Systems discussed possible solutions for the team at the SCLD and put recommendations forward in order to meet their specific needs and budget.
After being appointed the new IT partner for SCLD, Euro Systems refreshed the organisation’s phone system, upgraded their IT infrastructure with a new server, and installed Microsoft Teams and SharePoint to allow the staff to work remotely.
The new phone system in the cloud and the upgraded working environment with MS Teams and SharePoint gave the organisation increased business mobility. It also meant the SCLD was well-prepared for having to work remotely, which became essential when the COVID-19 pandemic emerged, and businesses around the world had to make the switch to working from home.
SCLD has been pleased with Euro Systems’ work and expressed that switching IT provider has made a big difference. The staff have benefitted from the IT solutions implemented, which have allowed them to work remotely and more effectively.
Euro-Systems helped us to upgrade our infrastructure allowing our staff to work from anywhere, which proved invaluable when the country went into lockdown and we were all forced to work from home.
